Talking Hi from across the pond

I'm a British expat living in America. I still love my country and I would love to move back some day. I see some of the things going on in the UK differently because I don't live under the lies of British politians (I get lied to by the American ones instead). I might be able to offer a different perspective on some things. I've been reading here for a few days before I joined and I look forward to posting.

Welcome. The majority of posters here are decent normal people. However, there are a few very vocal ones that aren't taking their medication, you'll get used to them and in time, hopefully ignore them.

As for moving back to Britain, I wouldn't bother, I'm moving out when I retire. It won't be how you remember it and you will be severely disappointed.

Yep, but he wants to wait. The house is obviously priced in Zeros, and the Zero will become almost worthless in a few weeks, so he could pick it up for a song, then.

I still visit my family in Britain on a regular basis and it's exactly the same as when I left. It was a depressing little hole when I left and nothing has changed. For some strange reason I still love it anyway, but a house in France sounds nice too.

Ah see, remember the bit I said about certain posters not taking their medication. Well, Bananas has arrived. Some village is currently deprived of its idiot. We're looking to re-home him, but unfortunately, no one seems to want to 'fess up to owning him.

I am glad you have found somewhere much nicer than here.

We who stay here will endeavour to find some way of surviving in this depressing little hole.

Do you noticeably brighten the place up with your presence each time you visit? We should probably be very grateful.

I'm know I'm going out on a limb here but I'm sensing irony....

If only the Germans would decied which way to go. If they support the euro then it will rise and I can sell it to a frog, if they say b*ll*cks to the lazy Greeks/Italians/French/Spanish then the pound will work well in France and all those Brits wanting to retire to France will be back buying houses. I think the Germans are enjoying haveing their cake (euro) and not having to pay for the corrupt latins.
