eubleus, paying protection money is part of every day Italian life. Why expect anything different here? And if I was in the army, I would be all for it as well.

What concerns me is, if Pakistan falls to the Taleban what will happen to the several thousand Pakistani students who are already here on student visas or who are applying for student visas to be here?
Will they be able to claim asylum on the grounds that they face persecution in Pakistan, and remain here?
Don't, please don't, try to tell me that they are all avowed opponents of the Taleban, and that they will form an anti-Taleban nucleus here that is dedicated to the defeat of the Taleban.
We don't need any more opposition groups here in the UK, we don't want them blocking our streets with their protests which have nothing to do with us and we don't want to have to pay the M15 bill for constantly monitoring them.
rubbish song first time I saw it. still no better. Of all the countries in the world you would think that Britain would know that you CANNOT fight terrorists after all the years of death and heartache on all sides. all deeply entrenched in Northern Ireland enemies as bitter and violent those now. The answer is talk and more talk. Force will never stop a terrorist because they are only terrorists to us, they are heros to their people in many cases and become martyrs, symbols to other youngsters.
Terrorism can be fought, and fought successfully, but only by adopting the same measures as the terrorists – and worse.
It was giving the Loyalists a free hand and Thatcher’s shoot to kill that put the IRA scum back in their boxes.
