I often wonder when Africa will taste capitalism; that will be the start of a great reaction.

As long as it isn't the brand of "Capatalism" that was introduced to parts of South America over the last 38 years, one that saw the theft of land from the native people, the destruction of forests through dumping pollution, tit for tat warfare and blue chip companies opening their own torture chambers up onsite.
Unfortunatly the Chinese brand of capatalism seems to be forging ahead.

Yes I often wonder that, the economic misery suffered in many parts of Africa is due to very outdated economic policys, sadly our own government is slipping backwards in this regard as well!

That is no brand of capitalism. Capitalism is banning the initiation of force, by man or men; individual or government.

However unfortunatly it is advertised as capatalism and branded as thus by those who implement it.
Really what the anti-Capatalist movements out there are after smashing isn't really capatalism in my opinion, it's imperialism cloaked in capatalism i.e. what happened in Panama, Equador, Colombia etc.

The anti-capitalist movement is opposed to true capitalism, I see no reason why any anti-capitalist should care whether it is church, state or society that man buys his life from.

Capitalism is about ownership of capital. It is a particular economic system, nothing more.

Your definition is nonsense, it relies on some universal, "natural" definition of what is rightfully someone's property. We don't live in such a world of black and white.

It is not merely an economic system. It is political: economic and social.

BonnieDundee, I would venture to say that laws regarding property exist because property itself exists, not the other way around. Any definition we give of property is merely capturing a reality - the question is, which system best captures this?
