Brief extract from the BBC article on the link in the first posting to this thread:

"(Quote) According to reliable estimates, on average China secretly executes around 22 prisoners every day - that's 374 people during the Olympic Games" (End of quote) said Kate Allen UK Director of Amnesty International. What do they expect China has a population of over 1 billion.

Me included. I regard the death penalty (state murder) as an abomination whenever and wherever it is used. And I am not a 'wet liberal' or anything like that.

And do you mind if I ask how you would feel if a friend of yours were executed (i.e. murdered by the state) for a crime that they did not commit?
