I agree with your comment, Smidgey.

Amnesty International said this week that the Chinese regime could be killing (i.e. executing) up to 22 people a day (that is nearly one person every hour).

That presumes that Jewish people, or rather that the whole Jewish population of Europe were hell bent on committing acts of terrorism against the German people.

That presumption is disgusting, stupid, and totally wrong.

Except I don't think it is. There are plenty of places that have lower crime rates than we do without the death penalty.

There are a whole host of factors and punishment is just a small one.

We want a justice system, not a revenge system.

Another way might be the empowerment of the Police force through law amendment. A lot former British Colonies, suhc as Hong Kong and Singapore are doing much better than UK.
I'm sure there are many possible solutions. But I was talking more about the legal system, not so much the police. We have some asinine laws in this country.

Thanks.

But it is interesting to note that they don't even know for certain how many it is. There are no concrete figures - which makes it even more scary.

The problem is alot of Tibetans supporters are Westerners so hopefully it will create anger at the Chinese community if they try and do anything.
