I'm surprised there are any white people left there.

The blacks are simply exercising their rights to live in the manner of their traditional culture.

Strange how far removed from its real meaning the word “culture” has migrated these PC days.

I agree with the idea the whites should not simply own large amounts of the country because they managed to take it in colonial times. However the land should not go to ruling party elites as it is now.

Farm raids has increased a lot since Mandella from what I can see. It seems the left like to keep this one in the dark.

What rights are these? Which philosophy commands them?

That is true, but any government intervention will make it worse. Were Zimbabwe to become free (capitalist) then the hereditary land banks would not last long.

They might. The market based on capitalist property rights does not destroy power and unequal bargaining positions and it could reinforce them. It could leave a long term disadvantage for the propertyless and advantage for the large property owners which simply maintains itself and even increases.

And political power will tend to follow with the economic advantage due to the taking of all land by a few.

Short term, those with land would benefit. Long term, those with more intellect would benefit.
Capitalism has never created poverty, it has only inherited it.

If political power follows economic power, then we are not talking about capitalism.

That is not certain. Unless there was alot of competition and social mobility in the economy then such vast inequalities of bargaining position and power are likely to reinforce themselves.

That doesn't mean it couldn't become this.

It is certain, unless, the inherited land owners also possess intellect and competence. In which case they would end up with them anyway.

Also, remember that it is impossible to make a sustainable fortune by transferring wealth. Wealth must be created for economic success.
