I'd recommend a Scouse Commando unit over any Scottish regiment.
Parachute them in behind enemy lines, and the tanks and jeeps would be without wheels in minutes, the petrol would be sucked out of the tanks with inner tubes and ammo would be up for sale in Bootle by the end of the day

Anyway I'm only being half humourous but don't for a second think you are better than us. I'm Scottish, Cornish and a little English and Irish but I certainly don't look down on my non-English ancestory and think we need you to function. The involuntary rule of Westminister over us is as bad as that of Brussells.
I am English so naturally I am better than you!!

That sums it up very well for me.

Except "verging on" - I'd say totally emersed in it !

What a pathetic post by "bornfree" ()- the question is why was it posted ?

Maybe to push the idea of America being a country that is not fascist but actually cares about freedom.....

And maybe to give some faint hope that we may all be rescued against the evil government ?

What a fantasy !

If anyone is going to invade Britain it will be swarms of foreign EU/UN troops willing to fire on the British people.

If you accept that the government are willing to allow to Chinese secret police into this country to quell dissent against Tibet, what else would they be prepared to do ?

Better wake up and smell the coffee and quick !

lmfao No, I'd have to disagree!!

Britain - Empire
Ireland - Colony, then European province (part of Eurozone)

Obviously British are much more intelligent because they aren't stupid enough to want to join the EU. We only voted for the Common Market ;-)

Default American political establishment, EEC/EU, USA, sovereign powers, nations

Exactly.

That part of the American political establishment who have been telling us over the last four decades how we should join and then stay in the EEC/EU would not stand, for one moment, the USA giving up any of her sovereign powers to another nation or group of nations.

Yes, the once independent Irish Republic has now been reduced to a powerless EU-controlled statelet comprising about 0.7% of the total EU population.

Which is exactly what will happen to Scotland to if europhile Salmond, leader of the Scottish so-called 'National' Party (SNP), has his way.

Aherne, Prime Minister of the Irish Republic, is partly responsible for the diminution of the sovereignty of his nation. Thank goodness he is going.
