Default The American Bill of Rights in the UK?

I was wondering something...

The American political system has many problems. It is far from perfect. But one of the things that we are proud of is the Bill of Rights... because it protects a number of thngs that we feel our fundamental freedoms. (Well, not all Americans feel this way, but many do.)

Here's a link to the text of the Bill of Rights. (I don't know how familiar most Britons are with it):
LII: Constitution

I was wondering how the UK compaires on the Bill of Rights... which of the freedoms on there are protected in the UK... and if the British are strong on protecting any freedoms that we Americans are neglecting.

Just so you know... I am not trying to say that one system is "better" then another... I respect the British system (though I don't really understand it)... I am just curious as two how the two systems compare.

None. We have no freedoms. Every freedom we have in law is subtitled with "if the government says it's OK". We are the state's bitches.

The British system works like this:

You have the right to do whatever you want...unless it's forbidden by law.

And the present government has been passing laws like nobody's business so the sad truth is the law abiding majority are allowed to do f*ck all while the criminals do what they like

Don't you have the Magna Carta, though?

...aka the "Great Charter of Freedoms"...

Though admittedly that was a LONG time ago... I thought it was still in effect.

Our corrupt MPS here in Britain have ignored the Magna Carta for the last 40years.

Most (if not all by now) of the Magna Carta has been superseded or repealed.

BenjaminFranklin

Be warned our constitution is being ripped up and so is yours.

The rules and principles of the magna carta are still their but for some years we've been educated that they don't really strictly apply basicly we've forgotten they exist.

As for being a free country it's only a free country if you follow and adhere to the works of Carl Marxs.

Our own government is committing treason and claiming it's democracy.

You really could not make this stuff up and the worst thing is due to media bias the whole countries walking around to busy shopping to even notice, thinking we live in a free and democratic society.

Is the magna carta being eliminated through the EU treaty ?
Or is it long gone as Steve says....

I'm getting utterly sick of this ridiculous argument
"One should always abide by the rule of law"

Ignorant BAAAAstards.

In short no one can get rid of the magna carter the bill of rights etc.. but what they can do is forget to mention it through the education system if future generations do not realize it exists or future police man or courts or juries do not realize it's power or believe in it then what good is it.
