BBC 2 Television Newsnight just said (at 11pm) that John McCain, who won the Republican Primary vote in Florida yesterday has an 8% lead over Billary Clinton in the contest to be the next American President.
Mr. McCain is also 7% ahead of Democrat Party politician Barack Obama according to the new poll. Rudolph Giuliani has now quit the Republican contest for the next USA Presidential elections. Democrat Party politician John Edwards has also pulled out of the Democrat contest. American opinion polling specialist Frank Lunt told Newsnight "I can't come up with a more pathetic analogy than (Republican) Rudolph Giuliani spending $30 million on his campaign and winning only one delegate (yesterday in Florida). Now that Giuliani is out of the race, his vote will go by a ratio of 2 to one to Mr. McCain." Mr. Lunt added "Mr. McCain will sweep up the Giuliani vote in New York and New Jersey; he will win half the states on 'super Tuesday' with the other half split between his two main Republican opponents." |
