Possible Gold for Ron Paul in Louisiana

If any controversy arises from the delegate process, it will be from Paul's camp. 'We're being watchful, though, because we want to make sure all of the delegates were registered Republicans before the Nov. 30 deadline," Dore says, adding there was a great deal of interest expressed by nonparty voters about switching to the GOP in support of Paul. 'We started contacting registrars of voters in 17 parishes yesterday about roughly 90 people, the vast majority of which were signed up for Ron Paul."

Only a surprise if the MSM is your only source of news.

If he has won in Louisiana, I wouldn't expect to hear anything about it outside of the blogosphere.

NOT comparing Ron Paul to George Wallace what so ever, but Wallace's American Independent Party managed to break through the two-party mould in the 1968 Presidential elections by winning 13.5 percent of the overal public vote and managed 46 electoral votes.

Would Ron Paul be better using his new found publicity to form his own moevemtn, or better to stay within the Republican party and its massive platform?

The decks are stacked heavily against a 3rd party. Especially if the candiate ran on a Republicrat ticket before, as there are "sore loser" laws in a number of states, that stop that candidate running 3rd party.
