It is a discrace that a govenment that sends our troops to Iraq and Afganistan ignores a former colony . The removal of Mugabe should be at the very top of our things to do list,taking away his honours would just give him another 5 minuites on the news.

Reply: Disgracing Mugabe publicly by removing his honours would be a correct act of itself and should be pursued for that reason, if for no other.

The point is, Ranter, that the "five minutes on the news" gained from removing his undeserved honours, would send a message to those within and without his country who remain his allies and supporters. It would encourage them to desert his vile standard. Also, it would vivify his opponents and assuage his victims.

In short, it would be a very positive move. Therefore, perhaps you will sign the petition instead of scoffing at it ? Who knows... it might even set in motion the events which you agree are appropriate -- his overthrow and/or the removal of him and his cronies entirely.

But first, strip the cruel oppressor of British honours.

We would urge all forum readers to sign rjt's petition.
