Default US Somali air strikes 'kill many'

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/6243459.stm

Quote:
The US has carried out at least two air strikes in southern Somalia targeting Islamist fighters, who the US believes include members of an al-Qaeda cell.
The militias were reported to have been tracked by aerial reconnaissance and then attacked by a US gunship launched from a US military base in Djibouti.

The US says Somali Islamists sheltered al-Qaeda operatives linked to the 1998 US embassy bombings in East Africa.

The Somali transitional government says many people were killed in the raid.

Looks like another al-Qaeda recruitment drive... by the Americans.

Well thats a few less Islamofacists. They had British Muslims there as well, which means they have a large support/ funding base here, worrying.

Its only worrying because our politicians have chosen to let so many "refugees" in and the human rights system has let them stay and the secutrity forces and the home office are to busy blaming each other to sort the mess out
With all the eastern europeans here lets hope we don't fall out with the Orthodox Church

I see they didn't actually get any of the people they were after.

Never mind, they are only towel-heads eh.

Unfortunetly some are converts who have been brainwashed and are almost akin to being poor bloody infantry.
It's sad that som many religions have to have intolerant sects pushing hatred

Default Somalia

I wonder if anyone remembers what Somalia was like under the Islamic Courts (which implemented Islamic Shari'a law). Everyone was forced to pray to Allah five times a day or face beheading. The assumption that everyone was Muslim went without saying.

Women were stoned to death with large rocks for (often false) adultery claims, female circumcision (ouch!), bodily mutilation for minor crimes, death penalty for homosexuality, etc.

More surprising than the US air attacks is the worldwide complacency before the US got involved.

Countries implementing Shari'a laws remain members of the United Nations; even though almost everything they do is a blatant breach of the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Shari'a law is daily, institutionalized repression which passes without comment. Institutions like the United Nations are worthless. So morally weak that they cannot even criticize their own members for breaking their own membership rules.

The US intervention will inflame the Muslim world further.
