Default America Votes 2006

So the result:

The Democratic Party has won control of the House of Representatives in the US mid-term elections. The White House conceded the Democrats had picked up the 15 net seats needed to wrest power from the Republicans - for the first time in 12 years.

The Democrats are also projected to have won four of six target Senate seats - but Virginia and Montana remain too close to call.

Polls have now closed across the US, with high turnout reported.

The Democrats focused on voters' anger over the Iraq war during their
campaign, while the Republicans stressed their own stance on security.

The senate results stand at Republicans - 49; Democrats - 47
The congress results stand at Democrats - 227; Republicans - 195

So what are everyone's thoughts on this contreversial democrat victory?

Anyone but the puppets.

I'd vote Libertarian.

I have just checked the Libetarian website and they are very similar to UKIP. Their policies and stance on lower taxes and less government interference are the same as ours. Maybe something to look into for the future?

Likewise.

Furthermore, I'd go as far as saying that the US Libertarian Party is the *only* party which true Americans should vote for - everything else isn't in keeping with the spirit of freedom which their country was founded on.

Soooooo depressing.

All the sheeple just voting red or blue. The puppet masters must be laughing their nads off.

I'm not entirely sure what you all are talking about, but it sounds like someone has being playing too much Metal Gear Solid.

Being from the UK: in any safe seat I'd've voted Libertarian; in any marginal seat I'd've voted Democrat. I don't think the Democrats will be a lot of good for the UK (as if that were their job) but the sacking of Rumsfeld as a consequence is a pretty good start.
