Wow, that really is one big open prison then. Freedom in the US RIP.

For the 93% of US citizens who don't have a passport this will not be an inconvenience. The USA is massive and you can travel through 48 contiguous states without a problem. I think this will be an issue in Hawaii very quickly, less so in Alaska.

I don't know how they will control the Canadian border; there is a lot of hardware guarding the Mexican border these days.

Presumably regular travellers will get special dispensations, but I wouldn't want to be an American with a Muslim name and an enthusiasm for world travel. I bet the people with links to Israel will not have many problems.

I agree that Muslims will probably be more inconvenienced than most and that is unfortunate for those who have absolutely no association with terrorism or extremism.
