Default World Wide Water shortage

http://ag.arizona.edu/AZWATER/awr/dec99/Feature2.htm

Quote:
A prime cause of the global water concern is the ever-increasing world population. As populations grow, industrial, agricultural and individual water demands escalate. According to the World Bank, world-wide demand for water is doubling every 21 years, more in some regions. Water supply cannot remotely keep pace with demand, as populations soar and cities explode.

Population growth alone does not account for increased water demand. Since 1900, there has been a six-fold increase in water use for only a two-fold increase in population size. This reflects greater water usage associated with rising standards of living (e.g., diets containing less grain and more meat). It also reflects potentially unsustainable levels of irrigated agriculture. (See sidebar.) World population has recently reached six billion and United Nation's projections indicate nine billion by 2050. What water supplies will be available for this expanding population?
So what does our government do?

Encourage a population boom just as our countrys population was leveling off.

Magic.

The South East has already had a slight glimpse of the future. Even though it has bucketed down over the last few months, I bet they talk about droughts again next summer.

I think maybe one day soon though, they will have a meat tax so the poor can't afford to eat propperly anymore.

Yer don't need meat to eat properly.

And I don't know if you've seen the poor recently, but on my last visit to Woolworths it didn't look like too many of them were malnourished.

No, because they can afford Tesco value meat.

When the meat tax comes in, they won't.

We would of course have no Water Shortages if the Labour party plan for a National Water Grid in the late 1970's had not been cancelled by Thatcher.

Water is everywhere below our feet, just cool, clean, clear water, plenty of it too.

Get your own rig and supply yourself and the road you live in,it's cheap and relatively simple too.

Start a Grey Water recovery system from home or office for your garden needs, simple, easy to fit and lasts for years with zero yearly maintenance costs.

These rigs work fast and can supply 20 cubic meters of water per day, constant.

Ill leave saving the world to David Cameron.

You're on an island which is surrounded by water and notorious for constant rain. There ain't a water shortage problem - there's a water service shortage problem.
