I see Charlie Sheen the actor has joined forces with Alex Jones. He's building a bit of a movement up there in the USA.
While I don't believe everything Jones says, I definitely see some elements of truth in what he says. Goverments certainly do use fear to control people and that has been more than evident from both Bush and Blairs regimes.

The problem with conspiracy theories is that they can neither be proved nor disproved, thus the arguments presented always sound reasonable & rational for that is the intent; simply a conspiracy theory is circular-closed argument, simply you can round & round & never get any where. CTs are premised alone in folklore, myth & legend for example & as such designed to reach at our basest instincts & emotions.
This is instinctive human behaviour in the quest to explain the movements of history & of events-as humans try to make sense of the world & the happenings therein. As human knowledge is not perfect there remains uncertainty, people naturally seek answers which fit their world view, simply the answers perceived must not conflict with what they accept as a given fact according to their world view bias. So for example there are dark forces at work, there are or is a secret elite/s pulling the global strings ad infinitum, these are convenient truths because they can not be proved nor disproved to any degree of certainty; thus CTs are methodologically flawed, for they do not allow for rational reasoned arguments. So when a CT claims that those who deny that CTs do not exist or at least should be taken as no more than mere folklore (legend), myth, the CT will claim the opposer is in denial of the obvious facts, thus this argument becomes at first circular then a closed argument prevails as the evidence perceived is only open to those with a special knowledge which is not open to every one else, but only to those with a certain insight. |
