Actually, we're slightly on the wrong track here...

What this is more like is the barmaid selling you a drink and the landlord coming downstairs a few minutes later and kicking you out - since, let's face it, it probably wasn't the security guard who served the guy with the coffee.

You realise that in a lot of US diners/refacs they don't actually charge you for coffee, right?

So, no need to shoot him for stealing it either.

And hey, we don't even know that it wasn't out of his own flask.

I know some people hate hippies (eh John), but hippies are the least of this planets worries in my book.

Hippies are actually a problem because they don't understand how things work but tend to create opposition to those who do.

Like the EU. While you're out there telling everyone that the EU is bad, there's countless hippies out there telling everyone that the EU is good... ...undoing your work and making life difficult.

You: The EU is an evil entity set on destroying our freedoms.
Hippie: The EU is a big love-in, we can all be happy together. Man.

Which message is the more palatable to someone in their 3 minute break from watching Big Brother?

That's their right though. If I thought human nature could be trusted, I wouldn't mind the big love in approach either.

I just don't think it is realistic.

Most hippies I have met, tend to not have any time for politics, because they see it as man trying to get one over on other man.

Doesn't the very definition of "hippie" suggest a certain political thought pattern?

By being anti-establishment - no matter what that establishment maybe.
After all, the establishment, aka the 'authoritas' has, as its prioritised #1 consideration, its own welfare.
