The Chairman of Asia Taskforce, Brian Sanderson, (Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank) says that the EU is not fast enough, and hinders Britain's trading with India.

Today at 7.48am.

Trade talks in 'crisis situation'.

There is a concern in big business with the slow pace of the EU.

Boeing's chief rival could crash, burn

July 5, 2006

BY ANDREA ROTHMAN
Quote:
Delays in the $13 billion A380 program have prevented management from focusing on a competitor for Boeing's mid-size 787. Without a plane in this category, Toulouse, France-based Airbus would cede a market worth $450 billion over the next 20 years to Boeing.

''Airbus is at risk of becoming a marginal, niche manufacturer in a couple of years unless they act now,'' said Richard Aboulafia, vice president of Teal Group consultancy.

EADS on Sunday named French aerospace veteran Louis Gallois, 62, to replace Noel Forgeard as co-CEO. Christian Streiff, a former executive at glassmaker Saint Gobain SA, takes over from Gustav Humbert as chief executive of Airbus.

''There's not much time left,'' said Peter Rieth, an analyst at BHF-Bank in Frankfurt. ''That means not delaying [A380] deliveries any further and making strategic decisions such as how things will continue with the A350. These are two huge challenges for the new management.''

There is precedent for the decline of a dominant planemaker

That goes for all countries of the EU and doesn't mean any of them are actually finished.

Yes Right!

Yes right, that is exactly where the EU is going and if it [ i.e. the EU ] does not change direction, the United Kingdom has to get out of it [ i.e. the EU ] as a matter of national survival.
