If they are going to make English the official language of America it might be useful to learn the language in the first place one might think.

You might find it hard to believe, but Swedish is not the official language of Sweden - it just doesn't have one.

Such official language debates are clearly an arena the illiberals have difficulty in dealing with, except to the benefit of those that speak anything other than the majority language.
