Default Korean War betrayal; will it mean Korean War II?

This is my analysis of how leftists betrayed the Western forces in the Korean war, saving the communists from defeat and placing us at risk of another Korean war

Thoughts?

I'm no expert on the Korean War, knowing very little beyond general knowledge that it was a terrible fight characterised by brutality, slaughter and fanatacism.

A similar war would not benifit anyone. I'm quite happy with the concept of fighting such a war when attacked. But an invasion of Korea by the US? No. Not going to happen due to lack of support and / or fear of failure.

Not even us Brits would support such foolishness, at least in the short term. And in the longer term a cretin may not be in charge at the White House.

The status quo with North Korea is not likely to change in the next 10 years. So the solution is to be prepared for the worst, and make sure Bush doesn't do anything stupid while remaining in power.

A great deal can happen in 10 years and the ability for one nation to police the world is no longer a viable possibility. The only choice really is to ride the rollercoaster of history and see whats going to happen next.

I is not really a case of us Brits supporting a war in Korea as invading the north but what this government, which is virtually unrepresentative of the vast majority, is capable of.

I cannot foresee any American intervention INTO phpbb_North Korea. The Bush administration has other sights much higher on the agenda, excluding Iraq. (Iran, Syria). Even the U.S. can only spread itself so far with its manpower.

South Korea and China are more than happy to preserve the Kim Jong Il status quo - financially, politically and geographically benefitting. South Korea would face dire consequences if the NK regime fell and certainly does not want to foot that bill - economically disastrous.

The aid from both will continue to pour in (no doubt propping up the privileged classes of the "Juche ideal" within Pyongyang) - how much actually reaches the rural districts is uncertain.

After the recent "Arirang games" where many planeloads of South Koreans were jetted in (the dollar really speaks volumes), I believe the NK government has tightened up its act again, after re-filling its coffers.

Unfortunately for the North Korean masses I see very little change on the way.
