A hundred people protesting in Venaus, Val di Susa Italy, against the high speed railways (Tav) whose construction is scheduled for the next years, were attacked and beaten by 900 policeman on the night of December 5. Two people were seriously wounded. The protest against Tav started many years ago, and in the last days many people came in the valley to support it. People who live there think that the new project is an unsustainable one. In addition, they are afraid that the excavation of a tunnel hole may cross a layer of asbestos.
