Default EU slams US for 1,000th execution

http://euronews.net/create_html.php?...e=324138&lng=1

Quote:
The death penalty is supported by a clear majority of Americans, but the number of executions has fallen sharply in recent years; there were 59 last year. The European Union condemned the execution and called for the end of the death penalty worldwide. In a statement issued by EU president Britain, the bloc said: "We consider this punishment cruel and inhuman. It does not act as a deterrent and any miscarriage of justice, which is inevitable in any legal system, is irreversible."
While the sentiment isn't a million miles from my own, who are the EU to lecture other sovereign nations?

I say well done America. The Anti-es are always bleating on about human rights, they seem to forget these people who are put to death are proven cold blooded KILLERS and in my book deserve to die! I'd just like to add the whole EU Commission to the list!

What about the people in Iraq, the hostages, the civilians who are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Iran has more executions than the US and so does China, where is the criticism there? Why does the EU criticise the US for executing convicted criminals when Iran hangs innocent people from cranes whose only crime seems to have been to be Christian? The EU is one of the most corrupt and morally bankrupt organisations in the world today, on a level of China and Iran I dare say.

I was thinking about this the other day.

who are we as any nation to dictate how another nation runs its affairs ?

is it cause what we beleive in running a countrie is right ? but dont they feel that running their country the way they do it is right ?

whos to say if the death penalty is wrong or right,, all we can say is we have personal feelings about it, but then using personal feelings as a reason to condem another country or start a war ! is that the right thing to do either ?

it all seems to be playground polatics to me, as a species do we realy grow up ?

The EU is totally corrupt and morally bankrupt, Iran has evil ideas and is a danger to itself and the world but China? How can you include China with Iran?

Doesn't really matter if he agrees. The USA has states that allow the death penalty and others that don't. The people decide on a local level if they want it or not, which is real democracy in action.

Just beacuse the EU (or I for that matter) disagree with it, doesn't matter. Sticking your nose in other peoples business is a recipe for trouble.

The EU should STFU.
