There have been a number of posts recently about the deeds and mis deeds of western troops in Iraq. It is a tricky question whether we should stay or go. I believe that when troops leave it will get worse before it gets better. But this applies to when ever the troops leave, now all the way to the future. Its just a question of how long do we want to prolong the issue.

ASAP.
Massive waste of time, effort and money. Saddam will now be replaced by fundamentalist nutters, who will harbour terrorists and join with other fundamentalist countries in hating the West even more. This single act has helped provoke more terrorism (including againt Britain) and built up their cause, by giving it some justification. **** job all round and some people should be in prison for doing it all based on lies. It's a disgrace that our brave troops were thrown INTO phpbb_this quagmire and for what benefit? Getting rid of Saddam to be replaced by worse. Magic, just magic.

i think it has to be more inteligently done
ie let the iraqies vote us out, let them see that democracy can send us home where bombs and guns cant. it would also be a good pr excersize

I have voted for 'now', but I don't approve of the description 'cut and run' as this gives the impression we are running away because we don't have the courage, determination or ability to stay. Surely the real reason we should leave NOW is because we should never have gone there in the first place.
British soldiers should only be sent to fight - and die - abroad when strategic national interests are at stake. This was not the case in Iraq and we should therefore not have gone there. That is why I vote to pull out immediately. |
