Default America and Americans. Good or bad.

Personally I have met loads of Americans and can honestly say I have liked them all. They are polite and generous hosts and always interested in what others have to say.

However.

They do frustrate me a great deal. They can't see what a police state they live in (Have you noticed the similarity between their police uniforms and the SS?)

They don't get the fact that the rest of the world has a low opinion of them so they walk around as if everyone else is jealous just because they are american.

They can be very ignorant of international affairs. One highly educated and important man in South Carolina was glad the brits went INTO phpbb_Iran with them.

Are they stupid? No they can't be.

Are they naive? I think so.

Are they evil? Certainly not.

Is their military really that bad? It can't be. But every brit soldier, marine, sailor and airman has dozens of examples of how bad they are.

Where has America gone wrong?

All empires implode eventually.

Power corrupts.

Naive and badly led I think. I've met many friendly and even a few very clever Americans but then we only tend to meet the ones who travel. Their military are only 'that' bad when compared to ours who are still the best trained in the world but they do tend to be naive and badly led. The political system there is if anything more rotten than here and ceratainly more open to influence from big business. The TV and most of the print media is also controlled by cabal of big businessmen. The education system tends to turn the brightest students INTO phpbb_narrow specialists at an earlier age than ours and is more science orientated which leaves the late developers and second rate swindlers to go INTO phpbb_politics. It's also a very big country which makes the Federal part of the government very distant, very rich and not very responsible. Lessons for our side of the pond perhaps :?:
