The French interior minister has ordered the deportation of all foreigners arrested for taking part in the riots
To where? Will the EU circulate their details to prevent them going to other EU countries, should they choose?

In short, and selfishly, what is to stop them coming here?

I don't think they could do that.

Mind, some would say Britain should welcome them as Asylum Seekers, fleeing a nasty country that wants to expell them.

Deportation = back from whence they came to me.

So far 120 people described by the French Interior Minister as "foreign" are to be deported  .

Default Riot-hit Lyon bans public meeting

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4433674.stm

Quote:
Police in the French city of Lyon have banned any public gatherings on Sunday afternoon that might lead to unrest.
It follows riots - the first in a major city centre - on Saturday when police used teargas to disperse youths throwing stones and attacking cars.

The ban, which covers the city centre and lasts until 1900 (1800 GMT), was issued under emergency laws introduced by the French government last week
.

Quote:
In other words, don't come outside!

More than 370 cars were burned overnight, down from 502 the previous night. A further 212 people were arrested.
Quote:
Does anyone get the impression that the carometer is the way the media are chosing to gauge the levels of rioting. That's almost like setting a performance target isn't it?

A mosque in Carpentras had been firebombed on Friday, causing little damage but drawing condemnation from France's political and religious leaders.

A similar attack took place at Lyon's grand mosque on Saturday.
I wondered when the other extreme would turn up.

How do you know it was the 'extreme right' that done that? It could be the more radical Islamists who done it in order to provoke tension with whites and the authorities?

Classic! Have you any idea how ridiculous you've just made yourself sound? Your first question was valid, but suggesting that fundamental Islamic muslims would attack their own holy ground is crackers. Did the Catholics bomb their own churches too? And I suppose the Jews threw themselves INTO phpbb_the gas chambers to make Hitler look mean
