Well, having lived amongst Americans and observing some of their ways, this does not surprise me. I would think Sky News could find ten or a hundred times that number, probably with differing slants on the issues!
However, the flakiness of the few does not represent the many, who are, in my opinion, not too dissimilar from us! Some are churchgoers, some are not, and the variety of opinions seems the same. |

What you mean we can't just lump the whole of America INTO phpbb_their category and vilifiy them to death?
Some people still do use that logic, believe it or not.

Fred Phelps is an embarassment, and an attention seeker.
I think his message that God Hates fags got a bit old, so the media stopped giving him coverage. So he needed something else contraversial to get attention, hence his statement that every distater in modern times is Gods punishment. He said that the London Bomb on 7/7 was divine punishment [snip, hate site, we don't want to give it any traffic] Has to be read to be believed; some funny posters

I've heard of Fred Phelps before. He and his large extended family are certainly true originals. However, those who claim that the Phelps clan is the result of a secret genetic experiment gone wrong are not only unkind but factually incorrect.
I don't think there is any real resemblance between Christianity and Phelpsianity, and I certainly don't think any less of real Christians just because Phelps claims to be one. |
