Default Ahmadinejad: Wipe Israel off map

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exer...CE0E9957EA.htm
Quote:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has openly called for Israel to be wiped off the map.

"The establishment of the Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world," the president told a conference in Tehran on Wednesday, entitled The World without Zionism.

"The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land," he said.

"As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map," said Ahmadinejad, referring to Iran's revolutionary leader Ayat Allah Khomeini.
Well, if Israel take that as a declaration of war and premptively wipe Iran out first, could you blame them?

I wouldn't.

Given that Bush and his poodle here in the UK have already got Iran in their sights I’m a little shocked at the timing of such a statement, even if it does represent the views of millions of Muslims.

I wonder if he’s on the CIA payroll?

I doubt if he's on the CIA payroll. There's just nothing to consolidate power over people like reminding them they have enemies to hate. To talk about destroying Israel so openly, when the eyes of the world are already upon them, would give him the type of tough reputation Sharon has had or Bush had post-9/11 pre-realization that Iraq was a huuuuge mistake. I don't think this is worthy of any military action. Arab leaders say this all the time. Sure, they aren't always seeking nuclear capabilities, but the sentiment has been there since oh, 1946. I'd think Syria would be attack before Iran.

I have phoned Mark Croucher, regarding this and asked what UKIP had to say, he told me that he had enough work to do regarding Tom Wise and the scandal and could not at the moment do anything else.

I have also spoken to a few of the people at the top of the party and they have nothing to say. In view of this and the fact that it was the Iran President that said this and this statement is very near a declaration of war, I would have thought that the people at the top of this party would have said the remark by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was "unacceptable". but nothing.

Just shows what rubbish we have at the top.

Certainly we should be issuing a press release stating our continued support for the state of Israel and UKIP's committment to a peace process between the Palestinians and Israelis, and condemning utterly the irresponsible and unnacceptable statement by the Iranian leader.
