Have a read of the comments on that page. There's plenty of socialists from all over saying what a good job Chavez is doing. Strange how the people actually from the country in question are saying Chavez is basically killing their economy. Why oh why do people still think that socialism works? Low IQs? |

I don't really know what to say. I am pretty far to the left myself without being anti-American (I can't see being anti-what I am  ), but the far left pretty much lionizes anyone who seems intent on sticking it to the United States. Remember, Tony Benn said that Saddam represented the little guy in the fight against American hegemony
There's Castro fans, Che admirers, and in America, there are socialists who are openly pro-North Korea.I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's just a bunch of champagne socialists doing what they do best. |

Chavez sems like a good man.
The Venezuelans do like Chavez, they democratically re-elected him. I dont think your average Venezuelan owns a computer and posts in English. While he is somewhat to the left of me, he has the courage to stand up for ordinary venezuelans against the big oil companys, and I admire him for that. Chavez is for Venezuelan workers like UKIP is for British ones. |
