Default AUSTRALIAN P.M. PRAISES "REMARKABLE" BRITISH

Australia’s pro-Monarchy Conservative (Liberal-National Party coalition)Prime Minister, John Howard, has praised the British nation and people. Speaking at a joint press conference with ‘Tony’ B-liar at Downing Street (on 21.7.2005) at 3.47 pm, Mr. Howard declared:

“Australians have a great affection with, and identification with, London. We will pursue with the United Kingdom (UK), the common causes and values that we have. We feel for the people of the UK (at this time of terrorist attacks). We unite, as Australians, with the British people against terrorism. We admire the determination of the people of this remarkable country. We share common values with the British people. We are a steadfast partner to the UK – sharing the values important to the British people. We Australians are greatly impressed by the British and the determination of the British people.”

*Mr. Howard was speaking as a series of terrorist incidents took place at London’s Warren Street, Oval and Shepherds Bush (Central line) underground stations (thankfully, none of which proved to be fatal). An explosive device was also thought to have detonated on a bus in the Bethnal Green/Shoreditch area of London.

The question is - would the Head of Government of a continental EU state ever have made the same warmhearted pro-British comments (and genuinely mean them)? I think not.

To be fair Australia is a subsidiary of U.K. PLC.

Our Queen is their Queen after all.

We definitely shouldn't be turning our backs on them though. Why should we have to! Just to be part of an EU old boys club?

Stuff that!
