Default Jorge Haider and school seige children

Completely slipped my mind at Lechlade on Saturday what with new faces an' all: did anyone else hear on the BBC News (radio) at about 1pm Saturday that Haider had arranged for all of the child survivors of the Beslan school seige to spend a holiday in Austria this week? A positive. Anyone know anything else about this?

No. I think that's a lovely idea. I hope they have a great time and are spoiled rotten.

I bet Haider's press officer has already set his computer so he can call up the phrase "victims of Islamic fundamentalism" with a single keystoke.

Is it the same Hiader who was entertained as Saddam's palaces along with Galloway and Arafat?

Surely not. I don't know whether you are aware of it or not but Joerg Haider left Austrian Freedom party and launched new political formation "Buendniss Zukunft Oesterreichs" (Union for Austrian future).

He is now passionate multiculturalist and supporter of Turkey in the EU.

Even in the past he was friend of Lybia and Iraq
