Default Europe's 'locomotive' is losing steam

http://www.wpherald.com/storyview.ph...3-065456-6217r

Quote:
GENEVA -- Europe's locomotive -- the term used to describe the joint economic clout of Germany and France -- is increasingly sputtering.

Unemployment and stagnation plague both countries, experts here say, while Britain, another large economy in the 25-nation European Union, shows growing wariness of EU pressure to put billions of dollars more INTO phpbb_the euro coffers.

The additional funds are essential to keep the European Union's various projects on track, although they would cost the British taxpayer close to $10 billion over a seven-year period.
Hello, British people are you listening? WE are going to have to foot the bill fo rthis failing farce of a project. Our main parties don't care about the British people, UKIP do, you have no other choice!

Quote:
The European Commission's pressure on Britain to raise its annual contribution to the EU kitty above the 1 percent of the gross domestic product has increased the mood of "euroskepticism" in that country.

To the commission's warning that without more funds many EU projects would have to be scrapped, the Times of London reported: "The schemes that would be sacrificed are very much pet projects of Brussels; many are peripheral to the work of governments and companies."
So it bloody should raise euroskepticism!!!!! It's a smash and grab, only we can see them coming.

Please spell 'Sceptic' with a C not a K. We're British not American.
Thankyou.

I just thought I would go with the flow as it was an American article!

I had a Canadian grandfather too, so I'm allowed! 8)

They seem to be half and half when I was over there recently. They watch Corination Street, but they have 53 adverts, all very American.

Meh I'll come clean, I just read it that way and so wrote it that way. So shoot me! 8)

It's alright. You spell however you feel like it. I've known anglophilic Americans who adopted British spelling and as far as I am concerned, if I can understand what a person is intending to say, it doesn't matter how the spell it. You are probably right about the half and half stuff. Canadians swear they are flooded with American stuff, which leads to a somewhat surly disposition
