Bluemerle is just starting out
Default EU ID cards. IMPORTANT.

Thought you might be interested to read this, which arrived in the post last night. Only the names have been errased to protect identities.

Here it is - chapter & verse on the EU ID card - use it well in letters etc..

""The European standard to which the driving licence/identity card would
need to conform does not allow for national symbols, only the European
Circle of Stars" - Identity Cards Programme Team.
-------------------------------

This is brilliant! Well done indeed! This email reply you received from the
"ID card programme team" proves beyond a shadow of doubt that the loathsome
ID card programme COMES FROM BRUSSELS!!

I mean, it's going to have their flippin' flag on it.

So it is NOT a "national" ID card at all, it's an EU ID CARD.

It is the E bloody U that wants us all to carry the damn things, just like
the poor people in nearly all continental countries have always had to.

Britain has to be hacked INTO phpbb_shape so that we will fit INTO phpbb_the EU box.
Our liberties are to be amputated, by the Blair-Blunkett government, but
acting on orders from Brussels.

Continentals have never had Trial by independent Jury - so Britain must
have this scandalous safeguard of individual freedom restricted and
ultimately taken away! (See the Home Office initiatives and legislation,
and Corpus Juris art. 26.1)

Continentals have never enjoyed Habeas Corpus - so Britain must have this
scandalous safeguard of individual freedom taken away! (See the European
Arrest Warrant, and Corpus Juris art. 20.3(g).)

Continentals have always had to carry "ID papers" and meekly exhibit them
on demand from any bossy State Police cop "Papieren bitte!", who need not
allege any grounds for suspicion of wrongdoing to justify himself - so now
Britons must be forced to carry them too, these badges of slavery!
Everybody is to be subject to State control.

At this point Howard's "opposition" to "excessive EU power" is shown up for
the UTTER SHAM that it really is, since he is SUPPORTING the ID card
initiative.

And at this point the LibDems' "opposition" to the scheme in the UK is
shown up as being completely hollow and unreliable, since clearly they are
gung-ho for the EU and all its works, and I would be most surprised if
there had been a peep of protest at this plan from the EuroLibDem group,
which is LED by the British LibDem Graham Watson.... This can easily be
verified by UKIP MEPs in Brussels.

UKIP IS NOW SHOWN TO BE THE *O*N*L*Y* PARTY IN BRITAIN TO OPPOSE THIS!

The people of Britain need to be told. It might be a revelation for many.

Subject: A question re ID Cards

I was informed last year that the EU ring of stars would be on the face of
the proposed ID cards. The BBC have shown our Union Flag on the face of
the proposed card. Is this correct or are the people being misled?
The only card proposed at that time indicating that we are British was a
"Passport Card" which was to hold the Royal Coat of Arms. Please can you
give the description of what is now proposed to place on the face of the
'family' of National Identity Cards. Thanking you in anticipation.
****

Dear ** *******

Thank you for your email of 26 April 2004.

The exact format of ID cards will be set out in Regulations to be approved
by Parliament. It is likely that all ID cards will be credit card sized
plastic cards with a photograph of the holder, and containing an encrypted
chip where a biometric will be stored. Designed to be convenient and easy
to carry in a purse or wallet, the "family" of identity cards will all issued
to the same high standard.

The European standard to which the driving licence/identity card would need
to conform does not allow for national symbols, only the European 'Circle
of Stars'.

The only type of card in the suggested scheme which would be available
exclusively to United Kingdom citizens is the passport card. The current
passport carries the Coat of Arms, not the Union flag and it is likely that
the passport card would follow that approach.

The Government is open to views about the inclusion of national symbols on
the identity card. However as this card could be issued to citizens of any
country who happened to be resident in the UK, the inclusion of a flag or
other national symbol might lead to confusion about the holder's
citizenship.

Yours sincerely,

Identity Cards Programme Team

and later,

Dear *** *******

Thank you for your further correspondence of 28 October to the public
enquiries team about identity cards. Your e-mail has been passed to me in
the Identity Cards Programme Team to respond.

I should emphasise that no decisions have been made on the format of a card
or on the emblems or logos that might appear on it. However, we are aware
that there may be particular sensitivities regarding what is on the face of
the card and are working with user groups to make sure these are taken INTO phpbb_
account.

The exact format of the card will be set out in Regulations to be agreed by
Parliament. No decisions have yet been taken. We are aware of the
particular sensitivities in the UK regarding certain emblems and logos and
these will be taken INTO phpbb_account when designing the card.

However, we are grateful for the time you have taken to comment further on
this issue.

Yours sincerely

Aamna Saeed (Miss)

What a surprise! NOT

I knew the EU would be behind the whole thing. It had all the signs of the corrupt superstate all over it!

Good work whoever wrote the letters above!!!!

This is massive news! What are the Lib Dems going to do now? They can't have their cake and eat it, they either have to back down and support the damned things, or do a EU-turn on the EU and advocate withdrawal.

They won't be doing option 2 any time soon!
