Europeans fear Turkey's population may swamp the Union

Although membership is unlikely to be concluded before 2015, there is widespread fear that eventually Turkey’s almost entirely Islamic population could reach 100 million, making it by far the EU’s biggest member. Even by the time of accession it is likely to equal Germany’s 80 million.

I wonder whether the Turkish are worried that their country will be invaded by secularism, capitalism and American culture even more?

I think Germany is probably sweating a bit right now.

There is a portion of Turkey that wants to be more western in their way of life. There is also a portion that don't, I can see a civil war kicking off there in the near future. Good job they will be the EU by the, so everyone can flee to other countries when it does happen. A kebab shop on every street in Britain would be the major benefit for us. :roll:
