Default Gay rights group gets official E.U. status

A leading gay rights group working with members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in the European Union has been given official parliamentary recognition.

The Gay and Lesbian Intergroup works with MEPs, civil servants and lobbyists to ensure lesbian and gay issues are at the forefront of debates made by representatives of member states.
The Italians will be chuffed. I suppose they get researchers and a budget for their cause too. I wonder if there is an organisation for straight rights too. Total rubbish.

I don't go with the "Lesbian and gay issues" - their issues are not gay/lesbian issus per se. They are people issues.

All they ask is to be treated equally with others and why not?
Women seem on the way to acheiving this and when they finally do, bless 'em, there will be no further need for womens's rights groups.
Similarly there will be no need for lesbian/gay groups. At least, not in this context.
