Bribery rife in some EU states, survey shows

Among the "old" 15 EU member states, Finland, with 3 per cent, was highest, followed by Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands, all with 2 per cent. The figure for both UK and Ireland was 1 per cent. The US was the only country surveyed where less than 1 per cent admitted bribery.

So the UK is one of the cleanest economies in the world, and we want to join a club that is as corrupt as them come.

Remind me why we are even thinking of staying in this shambles? Oh I forgot, we didn't get the choice!
