EU to spend €45 million to fight spam

Why doesn't the EU just let the industry sort it out, instead of blowing more of our cash on cushy little jobs for the boys. All the big companies are on the case for spam, and I have personaly benefitted already from this work. The EU is all about control of everything, time to get out!
