I wonder what the US will think of any deal between the EU and Iran. I can see this leaving phoney Tony in an awkward position in the future, if the US decided it still wants to take action.

I will be completely forward with you. Being that this is the international section of the forum, I hope I am not too far out of line, but it really is not surprising, this and the arms sales to China. To "balance" the power the US has had since the fall of the USSR, the EU will have to pick up the slack and begin exporting weapons at a Soviet style pace to regions that hate the US
:wink: Just like Kalashnikovs are all over the Third World, one day even the smallest nation can have their own part in the Galileo satellite system. It was to be expected. When de Villepin made his rounds of the Middle East after the invasion of Iraq began, he hardly left a country without contracts for weapons. It was good business to play up the paranoia that they could be next and needed something to guard themselves against the looming Yankee menace ![]() |
