Default More calls for an EU super power

Telegraph Article
Quote:
Warning of a "more multi-polar world than ever", he said America's assertive policies made it crucial for Europe to pull closer together as a single power bloc.

"Europe today has more than ever the need and necessity to reinforce its unity - that is the goal of the constitution," he said, attending a summit of EU leaders in Brussels.

The "Old Europe" trio of France, Germany and Spain appeared deeply stung by Mr Blair's comments that some European leaders were "in denial" about this week's events in America.
There's a quote to pull out closer to the referendum:

"Europe today has more than ever the need and necessity to reinforce its unity - that is the goal of the constitution"
- Jacques Chirac

This kind of article really does emphasise just how little influence Britain has in the running of the EU. If the pro-EU Tony Blair cannot make a difference, then what hope do the Tories have? Can anyone seriously claim to believe that the Conservatives can change the EU from the inside?

The Tories don't themselves, but they will say anything to gain favour with the public. Just like the NE regional election though, people are waking up to this massive con!
