I feel real diaspointment as regards this result. In particular I feel for the most vunerable in the USA, the unemployed and the inpoverished, they deserve better than what they got on Nov 02 2004. But I also see the relection of this interlectually inadequate bigot as a handicap regarding seeking a global solution to the catstrophe that is global warming. People should shun America and have nothing to do with this wicked man who has brought nothing but despair to the people of the Middle East with this dishonarable and in my view illegal war of which I am ashamed that our country has taken part in.

We shouldn't be too surprised that Bush has been re-elected despite Iraq. Exactly the same thing is due to happen here in a few months.

The difference is though

a) Blair won't get anywhere near 50% of the popular vote.
b) People will vote inpsite of Iraq and the war on terror for liar, rather thand because of it, like the states.
c) We have multiple parties that will pick up seats. Labour are not popular, but the opposition is split all over the place. I honestly think the Tories will come third. They are finished.
d) Even if Blair wins, he or Brown will have a terrible time getting things done. They will have to beg parties like ours for support on various issues. Anything they try to get through on Europe will be nigh on impossible.

Bush has a free reign in the US to push an ultra conservative agenda. Blair won't have any such luxury.

I admit this looks highly likely at the moment, but let's not give up before the election campaign has even begun. Blair is stoppable. He is unpopular and widely distrusted. Whether or not he gets re-elected depends upon the voters and, before that, on the actions and decisions of all the opposition parties.

I'll wager 1 Wagon Wheel Iran is being lined up for liberation. Of course they will welcome being bombed INTO phpbb_the stoneage with flowers and sweets. Anyone who doesn't is a terrorist.

If you are a young American, then be afraid, be very afraid. Admitedly this guy is a democrat, but he can see whats going on in the senate.

Spring break looks like being in Iran next year!
