Default EC sacks whistleblower Marta Andreasen

The outgoing European Commission sacked its most tenacious whistleblower yesterday in a final settling of scores, prompting furious protests from Euro-MPs.

Marta Andreasen, the former chief accountant, was dismissed without pay following a 28-month inquiry after she spoke out against the European Union's "Enron-style" book-keeping.

Guided by Neil Kinnock, the reform commissioner, Brussels imposed its harshest sanction, even though internal EU documents have largely validated her claims.

The stench of corrpution in the EU gets stonger and stonger. Kinnock has always been a loser, but I used to think he at least stood by his convictions. Now I know that these convictions are to stay on the gravy train for as long as possible, I have no respect for him at all.

The urgency of our exit from this corrupt house of cards is more pressing than ever! Wake up Britain!

Telegraph Article
Quote:
Mrs Andreasen, who found out on Wednesday that she had finally lost a two-year battle to keep her job, has amassed more than 100 papers that she believes will shed new light on the EU's poor accounting practices. Some of the documents are so sensitive that she has stored them in a bank vault for safe-keeping.
The problem is that these files are all going to relate to the outgoing commission, so that will immediately give them a "get out of jail free card".
