Look at the very first paragraph of the Telegraph article:

"Almost nine in 10 new jobs created over the past decade have been taken by foreign-born workers despite a sharp increase in the number of skilled British workers, official figures show."
But are they the skills in demand?
They are certainly not appearing in my field.[/quote]

There is of course yet another bottom line.

Britain is now past being full, we're overcrowded.

By the way I'm not racist - just concerned about mass immigration.
How many new jobs are the result of immigration?

No one seems to be asking the rather obvious question of where is the money to build the two and a bit million new homes going to come from.

Throw in the costs of infrastructure and provision of services and the figure is astronomical.

Let’s also put aside the public / private sector red herring, the fact remains that to build two and a bit million homes plus the bells and whistles, has to come from the tax payers either directly by them getting mortgages funded by outside Britain sources, or by Government who here again must borrow the cash again from outside of Britain sources, or a mixture of both.

Irrespective of public / private / mixed the money will have to come from outside of the UK so increasing the debt the nation owes to foreigners.

And all the while we are letting more and more people flood into the UK to add to the total and increasingly the incomers are sending what they get out of the country to where they should be staying.

We are getting into deeper and deeper debt and foreigners are taking the money our government is borrowing and it is us who will have to pay the bills in the end.

There is something utterly insane about how this government is behaving.

This Government is not carrying out an insane action in doing things like this because all their actions are deliberate and carefully planned.

They have in the past, and are continuing, to stuff the future generations of this country,I can't understand why mass arrests of Government personnel have not yet taken place here.

The money will come from the same place that the $200bn recently pumped into the world economy, the £26bn (plus) that the BoE pumped into Northern Rock, the £3.6bn that it costs to finance the twin wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the unknown billions spent on bankrolling Europe and educating Africa - The printers shop.

No. It will come from the government selling "gilts", in other words borrowing it from wherever it can.

Think THAT one through fully and the picture that emerges is horrifying.

If you are referring to the countries that have the readies to lend, I'm thinking oil, more than horrifying.

Exactly. That is also why Brown and his glove puppet were exploring how to offer Islamic compliant Gilts to the market.
