The issue was among financial pressures raised by (Chief Constable) Mr. Creedon when he addressed Derbyshire Police Authority at its annual budget-setting meeting. He said: "Dealing with a shoplifting case can be an eight to 10-hour job when we need to use interpreters, when it should normally be a three to four-hour job."
