All those buckets they arrived with are for the taxfree cash they will be taking back home with them.

Default Poles, UK, EU, Irish Republic, building industry

There are still a million Poles in the UK who have come here since Poland entered the EU on 1.5.2004 (the official figures underestimate the real number in our country).

I understand that another influx of Poles from the Irish Republic into the UK may be on the way as a result of less work being available in the Irish building industry.

So those Poles allegedly quitting the UK to move east (i.e. back to Poland or to other continental european nations) could well be replaced by new ones arriving in the UK from the west.

"But a combination of tightening economic conditions in this country, a comparatively weak pound and an unprecedented surge in the Polish economy has made it unattractive for Poles to remain".

Hm, funny how we need mass immigration to boost our economy whereas the Poles have done it with mass emigration. Makes you wonder if our government know what they're talking about!

I have always wondered why anyone would come here to work for minimum wage, only to have to give a load of it back in costs, even if they do live 10 to a room.

Now they also have to compete with the rest of the world, there had to be a point where they said "**** that".

err

It is hard to work out the exact number of Poles who are leaving the country because relevant statistics do not exist.

This is because there are no embarkation controls on EU members, which means they are not marked down as having left the country when they return home.
guesswork then, at best.

If immigration boosts an economy then we should encourage immigration into African countries and other third world areas.

Planes returning to Poland should all be deemes being full up.That would give a decent figure on those departing.

Planes arriving here should be observed as well.

I wonder of Brits will ever go over to Poland in the same fashion as the Poles did to the UK?

At least your immigrants seem to be legal. (Unlike the majority of the ones in the USA, for example). I have no problem with any immigrants who are willing to work hard and play by the rules.

Hey, only a few generations ago, my family were immigrants in New York City. They worked hard and they worked smart... and they made good lives for themselves and their children, and their children's children (like me). So I have alot of respect for the honest, hardworking immigrants trying to make it in a new country that they loved so much they decided to move there.

On the other hand, the ones who AREN'T honest or hardworking... the ones who dont respect and appreciate their new country (be that country America, the UK, or anywhere)... the border-jumpers and the welfare-grubbers... they just **** me off!
