Default Radical Islam in NL: A snapshot.

There is an English language newspaper in the Netherlands called 'The Times'. I picked up a copy in Rotterdam yesterday, and it is interesting to note a thread that runs throughout the paper:

Page 1. "Increase of Ultra-Conservative Salafist Muslims". This highlights the growing attraction of radical Islam to young Muslims in the Netherlands.

Page 2. "No Tsunami of Muslims in the Netherlands". This one says that the "far-right" is over emphasising the problems of radical Islam. (A tad odd given the front page headline, but if there is one thing worse than a suicide bomber it is, apparently, a 'far-right' politician!)

Page 3. "Sint Maarten serves as conduit of terrorist funds". This discusses government concerns about the Dutch Antilles island of Sint Maarten being used to channel funds to al-Qaeda.

Also on Page 3, there is an article about Hirsi Ali, the Dutch MP who received death threats following her criticism of radical Islam.

Pages 4 & 5 are a bit lighter, then:

Page 6. "Mega Mosque Controversy".... This one involves violent demonstrations, etc., and vague suggestion that the same Sheik that is funding this from the UAE might be implicated with funding the Taliban.

I think you get the picture by now. Doesn't look too rosy, does it?

Hmm.

If the situation is this bad in Netherland, why is it not *as* bad over here?

What have we got that Netherland does not?

There Dutch have become noticably less tolerant in recent years, but it is just rhetoric. They know what the problem is, but like us Brits, they don't have the guts to do anything about it.

I have no time for Putin, but at least he tried to deal with the problems coming out of Chechnya.

There's only hype to make you think terrorism is a threat when it is an over-hyped to make you give up your freedom for security/freedom(another lie).

It a complete phoney but people fall for it every time - the perpetuators of terror are mainly government sponsored, except 911 and 7/7 of course which were inside jobs. (see my other posts)

If you're against immigration then fair enough but "terrorism" is not a big threat because if the government really did fear terrorism would they continue to allow mass immigration into Britain ?
Go figure..........

Go kill yourself YCHTT, you *really* think 911 and 77 were inside jobs?!?

If so, do kill yourself, we don\'t need doubters like you.

We should just be getting over it: IT HAPPENED, and was probably caused by terrorists. Get over it.

(sorry, cant stand **** like that {See my intro post, speaking of which:Mods, where is it?!})

For the last part, only 6.5% of immigration into the UK from western asia (contains all countries renowned for sourcing terrorists).

Which, is really rather puny.
