Why does Adam Smith on the £20 send shivers down your spine? Just curious. I'm glad, an economist of some note, on the note.
"The division of labour in pin manufacturing,

For which read;

The end of the artisan at the altar of productivity, the reduction of the worker to a unit of unthinking, deskilled, repetitive production, the reference in the parentheses concerns only the benefits accruing to the owner of that pin-works. Where do you think the phrase 'pin-money' originates?

and just for good measure...

"The few who understand the system, will either be so interested from it's profits or so dependant on it's favors, that there will be no opposition from that class."

If you think those involved in the manufacture of computer chips are unskilled then you are severely deluded. Workers in modern factories are highly skilled.

I wonder how well the British economy would be doing if we reverted back to basement factories and only family businesses?

I can enter into a quote war too (and mine will actually be relevant to the position - unlike Rothschild's), however, it gets us nowhere.

Depends in which direction your driving

I note that the charge is from Cornwall into Devon - which is as it should be for all non Devonians perhaps the M5 and A303 could have the same arrangement
