Default "Dispatches: The Inconvenient Truth" Channel 4, Monday 1.10.2007 at 8 pm

"Dispatches: The Inconvenient Truth" Channel 4, Monday 1.10.2007 at 8 pm:

Description of the one hour programme from my television guide: "Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow reveals the contributions to the economy of immigrants, drawing on statistical information gathered by the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR). The data breaks down 25 of Britain's biggest groups to paint a picture of the one in six people living in the UK who were born abroad."

Britannist adds: I bet Snow (referred to above) won't be talking to MigrationWatch (see their website). As for the IPPR (also mentioned above) - it's a pro-immigration and pro-Labour organisation.

Default Programme, Channel Four, More 4

Yes, we'll have a chat about the programme later.

I see from my television guide that it is also to be shown 9 pm to 10 pm on More 4 Television on Wednesday of this week (3.10.2007) - More 4 is on 'Freeview' Channel 14.

Just thought I would mention that for anyone who misses the programme (i.e. those who only see this thread much later this evening after the programme has been shown).

I'll watch it this evening at 9 pm to 10 pm on on Channel 4 +1 ('Freeview' channel 13).

I know some of the findings of the programme already - they have been reported in one or two newspapers. But I won't mention them until viewers have learnt of the findings from the programme itself this evening.

If you saw the programme he did actually talk to Sir Michael Green.

I thought the programme tried to cover too much ground but to say it was Jon Snow and channel 4 it was not bad.

It threw up talking points that many of us have raised for years.
