Angry Did you see!

On today's news the murderers of PC Sharon Beshenivsky, have stabbed a fellow murderer in prison! Unfortunately he survived the attack!
Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah and Yusuf Abdillh Jamma who carried out the attack were very silly boys , they must have been due for parole soon! To think this attack in prison will involve another trial costing the British taxpayer thousands. Hang them!

Its surprising how many murderers reoffend after release. This must support the argument for capital punishment... no dead man ever reoffended!

Got any stats on that? I was under the impression that only a small proportion of murderers ever did it again, so if you have a decent source for what you say I'd be interested to read more.

Unfortunatly many innocent people were also hanged, still we can always say sorry when we hand the body back to their family.

Default Name the innocent who were hanged

ANGLO-STAFFS wrote: "Unfortunately many innocent people were also hanged..."

REPLY: Really? How many, exactly? Can you name them? How many 'innocent' men were hanged in the U.K. in the twentieth century?

-------------

An American website carries this story:

Is Parole Enough To Stop Convicted Murderers?

Now many people are asking the question, why was Danny Rouse out of prison and able to kill again? The murder of Stephanie Wagner, the second by a previously convicted murderer in less than three months.

"It's disturbing to think we can lock someone up for murder that length of time and think they won't re-offend," Craig Whitfield said.

Craig Whitfield's sister-in-law was struck by a car and murdered back in August in South Bend. The man who did it, a convicted murderer out on parole.

Then, just earlier this week, police say Danny Rouse admitted to killing 16-year-old Stephanie Wagner.

The Kansas parole board released him earlier this year after he served 26 years for murdering a 5-year-old boy.

"I am really curious to see, to know what are we doing to track these individuals what are we doing to make sure they are complaint with conditions of parole," Whitfield said.

The Indiana Department of Corrections Commissioner says in the case of Danny Rouse, they did all they could. Checking in with him 49 times in the 33 weeks since his release from a Kansas prison.

Indiana DOC Commissioner J. David Donahue says, "In this case, he had a residence, family, employment, on the front end of this case, there is a reasonable transition occurring back in the community after confinement."

But there wasn't, and this murderer, with only eight months of freedom, he reportedly admitted to police he killed again.

The Department of Corrections says they will take a look at their procedures. "We routinely evaluate the level of management oversight given in district management through the parole district management team, we'll assess everything else could be done,"

Now two men are back behind bars, one convicted in a second murder, the other now facing a second murder charge.

Whitfield brought up the idea of a convicted killer registry similar to the sex offender sites.

We asked the Commissioner about that, and he said past convictions are already public record, and they have no intention of developing that kind of registry anytime soon.

When will the deals stop??

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

For the WTF faithful, you know that I steer away from hard news topics. We stick to the ridiculous here - pathetic love lives, bad drivers, dogs with clothes, music lists...you know - a little of this - a little of that.

But I'm sitting here watching the news and the reports on this Peter Whitmore guy getting a plea bargain is making me say WTF over and over again. If that guy isn't a dangerous offender who is? If you don't recognize the name - I'm sure you'll remember the story. He is accused of kidnapped and sexually and emotionally abusing two boys last summer. He pled guilty in return for not being given 'dangerous offender' status - even though he's been convicted and released 4 times BEFORE this on similar charges.

It makes me SO angry. Didn't we learn anything from the Karla Homolka fiasco. I don't get these deals - makes no sense to me. (Although on further reading, the pleading guilty will save the victims from testifying - but you know he wasn't thinking that when he took it). At least in this case, the chance of Whitmore getting out will be slim to none but still...why should he have any hope whatsoever?

What do you guys think? (and don't worry - we're not changing WTF to a news blog...but everyone needs to be serious every now and then? No?)

I think you'll find more murders murderd again than innocent people got hung in the UK during the 20th century! The only innocent I can think of is a chap called Evans in the early fifties who was hung for murdering his wife, when in actual fact it was the infamous serial killer Christie from 10 Rillington Place that did it! It is only the Liberal anti hanging appeasers who are against an "Eye for an Eye"!
