Between 1997 and 2005, the latest period for which figures are available, 592,000 houses were needed solely for immigrants.

"Gordon Brown is having to build more and more houses because of the people his Government is allowing in, and it shows a complete lack of grasp of what is going on."

A Home Office spokesman said: "There are legitimate concerns about managing some of the effects of migration on communities. We are listening to these concerns.

"That is why we have taken a more gradual approach to opening our labour market to people from Bulgaria and Romania by maintaining restrictions and introducing quotas on low-skilled jobs."
They really are a complete bunch of donkeys if they think that 'slowing down' the rate oif immigration from Bulgaria and Romania is making the slightest bit of difference.
The housing shortage is already well past the critical point and every immigrant that comes through the door adds further pressure that ramps up prices and prevents British people from getting even a finger tip on the housing ladder.

Lock the door. Now.

Yawn! Yawn! You really ought to get out more, a stroll down any inner city High Street would give a better insight as to what is happening than any "slow news" rag of the day. Of course if you live in the suburbs or ruraltania, I suppose ignorance really is bliss.

That's expecting a bit much. Our poxy government isn't even capable of deporting those who have already been banged up for committing crimes!

Boo hoo for the big cities. Rural Britain might be pretty mono-cultured as you suggest, but we're also **** poor and have been underfunded and ignored for decades.

This Gov't will go down in history for wrecking this country for those who are truly English as 'multiculturalism' becomes synonymous with a falling quality of life.

Time to say no more.
