Hello- I would be grateful for any advice or opinions on the following problem - If ILR has already been granted and a subsequent naturalisation application made using a forged marriage certificate and forged letters of support how serious a matter is this? If the naturalisation application was not followed up after the relevant documents were returned by the H.O with a request for further information on frequent absences from the UK would this be held on file? I was also wondering whether a brother-in-law can legally sign a naturalisation application form as a referee ?

I know people, friends included, that have been granted ILR and naturalisation through the correct procedure and they think as I do that using fraudulent documents is unfair on them and a serious matter. It is just a case of whether to report such things- hence the post- getting the facts right before doing anything else.

I would hope that ANY responsible and worthwhile citizen would report any person fraudulently gaining access to residency in this country.

As it is now a little later in the day I can now understand the post.
If you believe fraudulent documentation has been used to gain entry into our country I can only echo previous posts-Report your suspicions to the authorities, you can do this anonymously I believe. Apology for previous comment. |

Thankyou- I think that you can understand that this is a very sensitive issue and it is important that we proceed with some caution making sure that our facts are correct. We have copies of all the documents used in the applications and we assume that they are the same ones that were sent to the HO. The marriage certificate in particular shows the names of two witnesses that were not even present at the supposed ceremony- a signed witness statement has been obtained stating this. I think that the only way ahead is to report the matter but not sure of how to proceed.
