Default Too many children being born.

http://politics.guardian.co.uk/green...123539,00.html

"Families should restrict themselves to having a maximum of two children to stabilise the effect on the environment of Britain's rapidly growing population, a thinktank warns today.

According to the Optimum Population Trust, Britain's rising birth rate, currently growing at the highest rate for nearly 30 years, should be considered an environmental liability.

"Each new UK birth, through the inevitable resource consumption and pollution that UK affluence generates, is responsible for about 160 times as much climate-related environmental damage as a new birth in Ethiopia, or 35 times as much as a new birth in Bangladesh," the report says."
-----------------------
So... What is all this about us being desperate for new people to come into the country, the call for more and more immigrants?

How about we all have 12 kids each, get a council house, not bother with a job and just live on benefits?

If it's good enough for chavs...

I wonder how many kids he's got.

The only reason the birth rate is going up is because of immigrants and the feckless who pick up money from the state and a flat or house.

Generally speaking the population had been declining until NuLab came to power but the left don't get it F........'s

tempting isn't it. the main problem though is we would probably be put on a council estate and forced to live with other chavs with 12 kids each.

Yes, strange how the Left were saying how 'overpopulated' the world was just a little while ago, and how all us selfish white people need to not have children. Now we are suddenly in great need of a population increase so that we can support our old people blah blah blah (because the government can't keep its fingers out the cookie jar). And they have the cheek to tell us about how global warming is going to effect us, and what do they then do? Bulldoze over all our green land to make way for thousands of new houses, reservoirs etc. Madness pure and simple.

I believe ive read somewhere that the maximum sustainable population in the UKis supposed to be c.30million. I think this was on the Green's manifesto at one point, then they removed it because it was seen as potentially stirring up anti-immigrant feeling? I may be completely wrong on this one.

Child benefit should be restricted to two children only. "Social housing" should have no more than three bedrooms.
That wouldd stop a lot of the welfare scroungers making a good living out of having 10 kids.

I have to question that, the UK has had a population over 30 million for well over a century and the country hasn't collapsed yet. The Green party aren't exactly credible at the best of times.
